I know it has been a while. A lot has happened since September but I won't go over all of that right now. Instead I want to share a list I wrote down a while ago about my top ten memories from Emory. Some of them are kind of long so I will post one or two a day to break it up. They are in no particular order.
10) Volunteer Emory
Volunteer Emory was the one thing that made me feel like a member of the Emory community. When I first came to campus I was ecstatic about getting involved in the Black Student Alliance but that turned out to be a big let down. I wasn't the most social person (still not) but for some reason I went on a community service event with a sorority (I think it was the opportunity to do some service). I had a great time at I.M.A.G.E and wanted to come more often. Unfortunately the group I went with didn'tvisit as often as I wanted but another group, Volunteer Emory, came weekly. VE (as we called it) means a lot to me. It got me involved on and off campus, build relationships with students and faculty, and so much more.
9) J-setting with WP
For those who really know me and have seen me in my element, they know I LOVE to shake my barely there booty (and am good at it too)! Uncle Luke, Too Short, any song that says shake that .... is my jam. My close friend WP and I would turn on some music and dance our hearts out like we were some UAPB Golden Girls or Southern Dancing Dolls (we even did the eight count set offs!). Those were some good workouts.
